Poetry Forge offers workshops and programming for poets and secret poets seeking community, craft support, and ongoing engagement with the art, beyond the gates of academia.

Generative writing courses, retreats, and our semi-annual manuscript incubator take place online and in person, year round.

Students who have been around for a while often join the Casual Union of Working Poets for continued fellowship, ongoing education, and the opportunity to share work with one another in a warm and supportive space. In 2026 we are launching Imagination School, a year-long program for those ready to undertake a significant writing project. This small cohort experience includes private mentoring, feedback, and practical support.

Poetry Forge is a project of author, interdisciplinary artist, and award winning teaching artist, Holly Wren Spaulding. We are based in southern Maine.
